As President and Chief Investment Officer, Mike is responsible for investment management, capital markets, asset and property management, and Ryan investment vehicles. With more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate and 18 years with Ryan, Mike expertly navigates the complexities of the industry, matching the specific needs of Ryan customers with the objectives of investors.
As a member of Ryan’s Executive Management team, with a particular focus on real estate investments, Mike considers deals and opportunities in light of the mission and direction of the company, providing the financial leadership and insight that supports Ryan’s building, development and investing efforts. Highly skilled in critical thinking and problem solving, Mike is responsible for strategic planning, asking the questions that assess feasibility and structuring complex deals. He maintains relationships with key investors and partners and works to develop new investment opportunities, while keeping the Ryan team abreast of market trends pertaining to the real estate investment world.
Mike is actively involved in a number of industry organizations including the Real Estate Roundtable, Urban Land Institute and NAIOP, where he was the 2007 Minnesota Chapter President’s Award winner. He also sits on the Board of Governors for Opportunity International, an organization working to end global poverty, and the board of Opportunity Partners, whose mission is to advance the quality of life for people with disabilities.
