PHOENIX (December 19, 2005) – As part of an overall campus project to remodel existing buildings and improve its campus image, Northern Arizona University retained Ryan Companies US, Inc., one of the largest developers of commercial and office projects in the Phoenix area, to build a 5-story building for the NAU College of Business Administration in Flagstaff. Construction began in June 2004, and is scheduled for completion in December, 2005.

Located on 2.5 acres in the southern portion of the NAU Campus, the new 111,369-square foot building contains 23 classrooms and a 200-person auditorium. The innovative construction incorporates LEED design strategies, such as an under-floor air distribution system and a four-story atrium designed to facilitate communication between students and faculty members and provide open areas for mingling. Carter-Burgess served as architects as well as MEP engineers and interior designers for the building while CTS served as structural designers.

“Ryan Companies exceeded our expectations with the solid structure of this building,” said Mason Gerety, Dean of the College of Business Administration. “Students and faculty will enjoy the open, welcoming design for decades to come.”

“We are so pleased to be selected by NAU to help them renovate the campus, and it has been a real pleasure working with them to bring this project together,” said Agnes Drogi of Ryan Companies.
