September 25, 2008

In its September 2008 issue, Buildings magazine recognized Ryan Companies US, Inc. as one of its "Who's Who in the Buildings Market 2008." The magazine's editors handpicked 44 organizations and departments that are: "slashing energy costs, improving customer service, building with the end-user in mind, investing heavily in employee training and development" and performing above and beyond industry standards.

The magazine cited Ryan's long history of delivering integrated design-build solutions across development, architecture & engineering, capital markets, construction and real estate management. They also applauded Ryan's Lean and Green approach which focuses on improving the company's processes and methodologies to deliver high-performance, sustainable buildings in the most efficient, cost effective way possible. Lean Six Sigma and Building Information Modeling are two major parts to what Ryan calls being "Lean and Green."

Buildings also cited Ryan's Joint Effort Delivery Integration, or JEDI, leasing model and how the company utilizes its property managers in the development process to address operational concerns upfront and improve the overall design and construction of the building. Ryan also adopted a Sustainability Policy this past year.

The editors summed it up best with "Knowledge is power, and Ryan Cos. has both" and "'Lean' and  'green' are the cornerstones of success for Ryan Cos."
