Ryan Companies US, Inc. promotes Dan Levitt to Senior Vice President

Minneapolis (December 15, 2011) — Dan Levitt, a 20-year employee of Ryan Companies US, Inc., has been promoted to senior vice president capital markets, a promotion that recognizes his years of real estate experience as well as his capital investment expertise.

“Dan’s commitment to Ryan and dedication to our customers makes him
richly deserving of this promotion,” said Mike McElroy, executive vice president, investment and asset management for Ryan. “He has led Ryan’s capital investment activities through a highly challenging economic time. Over the last five years, his capital markets team has managed acquisitions, dispositions, financings and joint ventures valued at more than $2 billion.”

In a tight real estate market that has seen minimal activity, Levitt’s team has released three real estate investment funds and overseen the sale of multiple properties throughout the US including: 308,387-square-foot TCF Tower in downtown Minneapolis, Minn.; The Hartford in New Hartford, N.Y.; The Mosaic Company’s 113,589-square-foot regional headquarters in Lithia, Fla.; a Twin Cities retail portfolio; and the five-building Desert Ridge Corporate Center complex in Phoenix, Ariz. Levitt also led the construction financing on the GSA Professional Building in Phoenix, Ariz., and two Charter School USA schools in Winthrop and Woodmont, Fla.

“The environment at Ryan has allowed my team to make things happen,” said Levitt. “Our diversity as a company and our integration of services has fostered the development of creative solutions for our customers and investors. I couldn’t be more proud of the Ryan team’s performance.”

In addition to his role as senior vice president capital markets, Levitt is an award-winning author. His latest book, The Battle that Forged Modern Baseball: The Federal League Challenge and Its Legacy (Ivan R Dee) releases March 2012. Levitt also authored Ed Barrow: The Bulldog Who Built the Yankees’ First Dynasty and Paths to Glory, How Great Baseball Teams Got That Way (co-authored with Mark Armour).

Levitt is a council member for Urban Land Institute (ULI), a member of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA) and Past Chair of Minnesota Center for Book Arts. He joined Ryan as a financial analyst in 1991.
