Becomes Tenant in Building it Designed and Built for Delta Dental

Naperville, Ill. (November 22, 2010)—The Midwest Division of Ryan Companies US, Inc. has relocated its offices to 111 Shuman Boulevard in Naperville, a building Ryan designed and built for Delta Dental of Illinois. Since 2003 Ryan has been a tenant at 55 Shuman Boulevard, the building located immediately to the east of the Delta Dental building.

The Delta Dental building is a four-story, 85,000-square-foot building. It was built according to LEED Silver criteria and is currently being reviewed for certification. Ryan has leased and will occupy the entire fourth floor of the building. Delta Dental, which moved into its space in Spring 2010, occupies the remaining 65,000 square feet of space.

Ryan’s space features three conference rooms, including a board room, a teleconference room and a general conference room. All are fully-equipped with state-of-the-art electronic features to foster communication and presentations between offices and with clients. Other elements include a limited number of executive offices, open space planning and ample windows to bring light into the space. VOA Architects designed the space for Ryan.

One of the special features of Ryan’s new space is its multi-purpose room, which serves as a meeting place and lunch room. The 2,100-square-foot space has been designed and constructed to embrace Ryan’s company history, reflecting the look and feel of firm’s founding company, Ryan Lumber & Coal Co. in Hibbing, Minn.

Included in the space is an exposed 66’ steel beam and reclaimed wood for the walls and ceiling, reminiscent of the design, construction and finish of a lumber yard. For installation, the steel beam was cut into three pieces and then welded together in place.

The building at 111 Shuman was completed earlier this year and represented the first Class A office building to come on line in the East-West Corridor market since October 2008. In addition to its role in constructing the building, Ryan is managing the property.
