Feeding Tampa Bay’s Causeway Center, a 215,000-square-foot facility blending industrial, distribution, and office spaces, marked a significant milestone in the fight against food insecurity. Facing the complexity of the project, Feeding Tampa Bay turned to Ryan Companies for their construction expertise and community commitment. The relationship between CEO Thomas Mantz and Doug Dieck, Ryan’s Southeast Regional President, along with Ryan’s proven success in Southeast industrial projects, made them the natural choice as design-build partner.
Ryan led the development of this state-of-the-art facility, which now serves as the primary distribution center for Feeding Tampa Bay. It features 31,000 square feet of cold storage, an 11,000-square-foot kitchen for daily meal preparation, and multifunctional spaces like a grocery store, café, and classrooms for job training.
Despite challenges such as prolonged permits and poor soil conditions, Ryan and Feeding Tampa Bay successfully navigated these hurdles with innovative solutions, ensuring timely delivery. The new facility doubled food distribution volumes and enhanced operational efficiency, underscoring Ryan’s commitment to impactful, community-focused projects that make a lasting difference in West Central Florida.
