McKesson—Fortune 500 leader in pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare information technology and fifth-highest revenue-generating company in the United States—turned to us to help expand their regional presence in the Scottsdale area. Their objective: An office for 1,800 employees with easy access to the freeway, abundant solar-powered parking and extensive employee amenities. After finding an appropriate site, Ryan began building the three-building campus.
Construction of Buildings I and II took just 15 months, with a phased turnover that allowed employees to move into the second level of both workspaces before completion, necessitating an enhanced safety program. The team finished the two buildings with more than 115,400 safe hours. Meanwhile, Building III was underway. Originally intended as a speculative multi-tenant office space, McKesson had committed only to the second floor. However, as tenant improvement design progressed, they decided to take the entire building. This decision, in turn, required updating the core-and-shell infrastructure, all of which took place during construction.
With the three buildings complete, McKesson’s state-of-the-art campus provides a contemporary environment that promotes collaboration and wellness.
