U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Outpatient Clinic – Papillion

Ryan Companies partnered with JTW Development on this community-based outpatient clinic to deliver a modern, high-performing VA healthcare facility. The clinic, approximately 300% larger than the Bellevue VA clinic it replaced, was designed to address the growing healthcare needs of veterans in the region. By replacing an undersized facility, the clinic fills a critical gap in providing accessible, high-quality care to veterans.

The clinic integrates energy-efficient mechanical and electrical systems, achieving Green Globes Level 2 certification with sustainable materials and energy-efficient HVAC systems. In addition to primary care and mental health services, specialized services include physical therapy, ophthalmology, PACT, radiology, and laboratory services, providing comprehensive care under one roof.

Supply chain disruptions were mitigated through early procurement of long-lead items like switchgear and rooftop units. Adjusted schedules allowed parallel progress, enabling completion ahead of schedule without compromising quality or safety.

Located near a grocery store and single-family homes, the project fostered community connections. Field staff collaborated with residents and businesses to ensure smooth operations. VA staff and community members praised the clinic’s quality, noting it exceeded expectations. The facility now provides veterans with modern, accessible care, enhancing healthcare delivery in the area.
