With steep grades throughout the property, there’s nowhere to go but up from the driveway into Wesley at Tehaleh. While varying elevations provided construction challenges, the payoff in vistas for residents is worthwhile, culminating with striking views of Mount Rainier in the amenity space atop of The Lodge. The larger of two senior living structures, The Lodge has 18 memory care units and 42 catered living units among 136 independent living units. The separate Brownstone building has 32 independent living spaces for seniors. Our design partner Cunningham Group was receptive to our value-engineering advice during construction. Partnering closely with Wesley, we brought an intentional owner’s mindset of complete accountability by treating what we build as if it were our own home—or the home of our grandparents. At weekly owner meetings, we reviewed the goals we share with our customer Wesley, such as creating a respectful work environment, being conscientious toward neighbors during construction, transparent communication—and ultimately doing right by the seniors who’ll come to call Wesley at Tehaleh their home. With a bridged decorative pond and walking paths carved throughout the development, residents enjoy Pacific Northwest modern style and many amenities, including patio dining, wellness center, fitness room, chapel, theater, craft room, library, club room and bistro dining.
