Barry Sullivan Promoted to Vice President at Ryan Companies
Ryan Companies has announced the promotion of Barry Sullivan, LEED AP, to Vice President of Construction. Sullivan previously served as Director of Construction.
A longtime employee of Ryan Companies, Sullivan joined as a co-op intern in the company’s Minneapolis office in 1999, and in 2002 officially joined the team as an Associate Project Manager in their Chicago office. He advanced to Director of Construction in 2018 and started his new role as Vice President in November.
Sullivan has been key in forming several significant business relationships across the company’s Great Lakes region. In his new role, he will oversee the business development, preconstruction, construction and closeout phases of projects.
“Barry has the reputation for bringing smart, creative solutions to construction challenges,” said Bob Goodpaster, Senior Vice President of Operations, Eastern Division, “He has particularly deep expertise in senior living, retail, industrial and design-build projects. His skills and character are impressive and embody the Ryan culture and values.”
Throughout his years at Ryan, he has been heavily involved in Clarendale senior living projects across his region including project locations in Illinois, Tennessee, Missouri and Indiana.
Sullivan is an active leader in his region’s emerging business inclusion efforts and the Chicago stewardship committee at Ryan Companies. Outside of Ryan, Sullivan is involved in the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA), Builders Association of Greater Chicago (BAGC) and American Institute of Constructors (AIC). Sullivan is a graduate of Iowa State University.
