Construction Begins on Ryan’s First Senior Living Project in Oregon
Along with our joint venture partners Cogir and Harrison Street, we are thrilled to share that construction has begun on Cogir of Tigard—our first senior living project in Oregon.
Located just 20 minutes from Portland, this high-end senior living community is expected to fulfill the demand for seniors housing in the area. According to market research, the Tigard market area’s senior population is expected to grow steadily over the next several years.
“Ryan Companies has consistently delivered on the promise of developing exceptional senior living communities in areas experiencing growth, regardless of the economic headwinds the industry is facing,” said Patrick Dimaano, our vice president of senior living development. “We recognize the significant investment opportunities presented in the senior living market, the strength of which is backed by strong demographics. We will continue to bring premier living experiences to seniors throughout the region and nation.”
The future 119,506-SF assisted living and memory care community will be comprised of three floors and will offer 107 apartments. Residents will enjoy several amenities including multiple dining venues, salon, theater, fitness center, library and activity rooms.
We are the builder and developer of the project. Upon completion, Cogir will lead day-to-day operations. Harrison Street is our capital partner and CBTWO Architects has been selected as the architect.
Cogir of Tigard is Cogir’s first senior living project in Oregon as well and will be included in their management portfolio of more than 60 communities and 7,500 residential units.
“We’re excited to expand Cogir’s best in class senior living operations into Oregon. Cogir of Tigard residents will experience a premier community purposefully built to enhance resident lifestyle with premium amenities and signature activity programs,” said Dave Eskenazy, chief executive officer at Cogir Management USA. “Centrally located in Tigard, residents will have the best of both worlds: excursions about town to shopping destinations, eateries and theater [and] enjoying the beautiful nature of the Pacific Northwest.”
The project marks Ryan’s third senior living community in the Northwest region, which includes Wesley at Tehaleh in Bonney Lake, WA
