KMS Construction Receives Annual Successful Together Award
Every day at Ryan, we work to increase the participation of certified BIPOC-, women- and veteran-owned businesses on our private work. And through our Emerging Business Inclusion (EBI) efforts, we’re able to build strong connections and trusted partnerships with firms like KMS Construction, our most-recent Successful Together award-winner.
In 2018, we created this award as a way to celebrate our BIPOC, women and veteran partners for their excellence in execution, shared values and commitment to the community. The recipient receives a $1,000 cash contribution to an eligible non-profit of their choice, as well as a Ryan-designed, walnut plaque, sourced by Wood from the Hood, a women-owned business located right here in Minneapolis, MN.
Each region of our business sets an annual EBI spend goal, and once its hit, they have the honor of recognizing one of their eligible partners with the award.
Our North region recently presented KMS Construction with our Successful Together award for their critical leadership in our joint execution of a 2021 Target remodel project, along with their integrity and commitment to BIPOC-owned businesses. To receive the $1,000 gift, KMS chose the National Association of Minority Contractors - Upper Midwest.
KMS Construction is a black owned, Minneapolis-based, Union-affiliated, and commercial general contracting firm that provides full-service project and construction management, while employing a diverse workforce. The company is a second line of business for KMS Construction owner, Ken McCraley, who over a 30-year period grew a successful commercial duct cleaning company.
