Ryan leaders joined Medtronic and local community leaders to officially toss the dirt and break ground on Tuesday, June 29, kicking off construction on the company’s new Innovation Center campus in Lafayette, Colo.

Our development and construction teams have officially begun work on Medtronic’s new 42-acre campus, soon to be the second largest site for the company in the US, and home to critical research and development work to improve the lives of patients worldwide. The campus will include two five-story buildings spanning more than 400,000 square feet. Medtronic has a longstanding history in Colorado, with facilities currently in Boulder and Louisville that employ about 2,300 people. Upon completion of the new site – which is anticipated during the second half of 2022 – the new campus will open 1,100 new jobs and unite employees from the existing locations.

The new campus comes with an innovative design to align with Medtronic’s commitment to a sustainable, healthy, comfortable, and productive workplace. As a nod to the site’s natural surroundings, sustainable features were of utmost importance in planning the campus. Employees will enjoy various site amenities throughout the campus, which includes 60,000 square feet of R&D/lab space and dedicated training areas. The site is conveniently next to public transportation, a three-quarter mile recreation loop and quick access to trails.
