Ryan Breaks Ground on 50th Charter School Project
Along with Red Apple Development, we’re celebrating the ribbon cutting of Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy Lower School, a K-5 charter school and the construction start of the upper school grades 6-12. This new project marks our 50th charter school where we’ve been the general contractor for schools developed by Red Apple Development and managed by Charter Schools USA for various not-for-profit foundations in Florida, Louisiana, and North Carolina since 2011. We are also set to break ground on four more additional schools this year, bringing our total developed square footage to over 2.8 million square feet in educational facilities.
“Throughout our 11-year relationship with Red Apple Development, Charter Schools USA, and its affiliated governing boards, our team has provided state-of-the-art facilities for more than 45,000 students across the southeastern United States,” said Max Bosso, our vice president of real estate development. “As a firm, we believe in investing in education to provide the future leaders and innovators of our country the best facilities in which they can learn and grow. We’re thankful for our business relationship and look forward to working together for years to come.”
In addition to Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy’s second phase, the additional charter school projects are underway in Wesley Chapel, FL, Northport, FL, Youngsville, LA, and Indian Trail, NC. The facilities will span approximately 50,000 square feet each and are slated for completion by August 2023 to welcome students for the 2023-2024 school year. Our commitment to deliver charter schools in just 10 months, compared with the average school delivery of 12 months, has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in interest while ensuring an uninterrupted flow of quality public education services for the communities they serve. The new facilities incorporate key design features and amenities to optimize the student learning experience, including collaborative workspaces, community classrooms, specialty break-out rooms, gymnasiums, science labs, art rooms, athletic fields, music and theater spaces, and multi-use rooms for cafeterias and after-school programs.
“We are incredibly thankful for Ryan’s dedication to our mission of giving access to quality education to all students in kindergarten through 12th grade,” said Scott Woodrey, president of Red Apple Development. “Our entire team is committed to enhancing student learning through an innovative approach to all subject matters. We trust Ryan will deliver our new facilities on time and meet the highest standards for our students and look forward to our lasting relationship.”
