Ryan Celebrates Three Million Safe Hours at Marina Heights With National Safety Stand-Down Event
Celebrating three million safe hours of construction at Marina Heights, the site hosted officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) today as part of the National Safety Stand-Down, an annual event that raises awareness of height safety in the construction industry.
3M’s Capital Safety, The Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers and ACTA Safety also joined Ryan Companies US, Inc. and Marina Heights subcontractors on site. The stand-down focused on worker safety at height and reinforced the importance of providing appropriate fall prevention equipment and training.
“Marina Heights has shown an ongoing dedication to jobsite safety and fall protection. We will continue to provide the equipment and training the workers need to work in a safe manner,” said Cody Berg, Territory Sales Manager at 3M’s Capital Safety. 3M has deployed more than 30 fully-customized fall demonstration vehicles to sites across the country.
“We were able to reach this incredible milestone of three million safe hours and 900 safe days without a lost time incident because of the safety culture we created on day one of this project,” said Kyle Schoenberger, Safety Superintendent at Marina Heights. “We are excited for the opportunity to host this National Safety Stand-Down for the third year in a row.”
In 2015, Ryan was awarded Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) Accreditation by ADOSH and just recently passed three million safe hours without a lost-time incident.
