Ryan Completes New Clinics in SE Wisconsin for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
The Great Lakes Region of Ryan Companies US, Inc. has completed two new clinics in Southeast Wisconsin for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, including a free-standing, 40,000-square-foot clinic in Mequon, Wisconsin, and an 18,000-square-foot clinic in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Both facilities, the second and third that Ryan has completed for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, are now open and serving patients.
“We are extremely proud of the work we have done, in Mequon, Brookfield and earlier in Delafield, for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin as it strives to make it easier for families to access top-ranked pediatric health care closer to where they live, work and play,” said Nick Kaminski, Senior Project Manager, Ryan Companies US, Inc.
In Mequon, the new two-story building with 20,000-square-foot floorplates was developed and constructed on an approximately six-acre site at the southwest corner of Mequon Road and Market Street, a prime location on a major east-west thoroughfare that provides great accessibility.
Pediatric services that are being provided at the Mequon Clinic include: adolescent gynecology; asthma/allergy; audiology; behavioral health; cardiology; dermatology; ear, nose and throat; gastroenterology; headache/pain; imaging (fluoroscopy, ultrasound, echo and MRI); neurology; orthopedics; ophthalmology; sports physical therapy; development physical therapy and occupational therapy; primary care; pulmonary; sleep; speech; sports medicine; urgent care and urology. There will also be on-site lab and pharmacy services.
The two-story building is a traditional steel structure with the majority of the exterior skin made of brick, stone and fiber cement paneling. Interior spaces feature bold, fun colors, which blend with durable aesthetics; a combination that is both practical and functional in pediatric medical settings.
Ryan provided development and design-build construction for the Mequon project. Joining Kaminski on Ryan’s development and construction team were Ryan Marks, Managing Director; Tim O’Driscoll, Project Manager; Larry Listermann, Senior Superintendent; and Lisa Sefranek, Senior Project Assistant. Groth Design Group (formerly known as ScopeBridge) was the project’s architect-of-record. Associated Bank provided construction financing.
In nearby Brookfield, Ryan also completed the development and construction of a primary care facility known as Bluemound Pediatrics, within the Target-anchored Underwood Crossing retail center.
For that clinic, Ryan developed an 18,000-square-foot, free-standing building for the new 11,000-square-foot primary care clinic. It is situated immediately adjacent to Target at the east end of the 175,000-square-foot center, at 12635 West Bluemound Road.
Underwood Crossing, an award-winning Class A retail center, was originally developed by Ryan Companies in 2012 and is home to many household-name tenants, including Target, Trader Joe’s and PNC Bank. The center is located immediately north of Interstate 94 at the southeast corner of the intersection of West Bluemound Road and Columbia Boulevard.
The new Bluemound Pediatrics Clinic was constructed to complement other buildings in the retail center with colored brick, stone, metal paneling and glass.
Ryan provided development and design-build construction services for the project. Ryan’s development/construction team included Nick Kaminski, Senior Project Manager; Ryan Marks, Managing Director; James Wright, Project Manager; and Doug Ingram, Superintendent. Stephen Perry Smith Architects and Groth Design (formerly known as ScopeBridge) served as the projects’ core/shell and tenant improvement architects-of-record, respectively. Johnson Bank provided construction financing for the project.
In addition to its development and construction work, Ryan is providing property management services for both the Mequon and Brookfield facilities.
The Brookfield and Mequon clinics represent the second and third projects, respectively, that Ryan has completed for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. In 2014, Ryan Companies partnered with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin to build a new 30,000-square-foot clinic in Delafield.
