Senior Housing Demand Brings Acoya Luxury Senior Housing to South Bay in Los Angeles
Through a joint venture with Cadence Living and Harrison Street, we’re excited to announce the financial closing and beginning of construction on Acoya South Bay in Torrance, Calif. This luxury senior living community will bring much-needed senior housing to an area with high demand. According to Moore Diversified Services, Inc., there will be more than 6,000, 75-and-older income qualified households in the South Bay area by 2026.
“We’re going to continue seeing demand significantly outpace supply because of the high barriers to entry in this submarket and our team is thrilled to support the need for high-end senior housing by expanding the Acoya brand into California,” said Patrick Dimaano, vice president of senior living development, Ryan Companies. “This new, modern aging community will offer a premier living style near beautiful beaches and plenty of retail.”
This high-end, four-story independent and assisted living community will offer 158 well-appointed apartments and 177 underground parking spaces, totaling 175,810-square-feet. Amenities will include multiple dining venues, full commercial kitchen, fitness center, theater, salon, club room and an outdoor amenity deck with a pool. And if all of that wasn’t enough, it’s located just two miles from the ocean!
“The Acoya brand signifies the best in modern aging,” stated Cadence Principal Rob Leinbach. “We cater to residents who seek high end amenities in a location where they can live full intellectual, spiritual and energetic lives. Being next to Del Amo Fashion Center, Acoya will be the engagement leader in the South Bay. We very much look forward to being an integral part of the neighborhood fabric.”
We are the developer, builder and capital markets partner for this project. Once the project is completed in 2023, Cadence Living will lead day-to-day operations and Ryan will support asset management. AO Architects is the architect of record, although our A+E team will serve as the interior designer to create contemporary finishes and quality details throughout the building. Wells Fargo provided construction financing for this project.
