Located in one of the fastest-growing master-planned communities, Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy represents a successful partnership between Ryan Companies, Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) and Red Apple Development (RAD). Since 2011, Ryan has developed, designed, and constructed over 50 schools for CSUSA/RAD across the Southeast, consistently delivering projects on time and under budget.
A K-8 facility, completed as the first phase, features a single-story, 40,244-SF tilt-concrete building with 54 specialty classrooms, including a multipurpose room, music room, art studio and science lab. It includes a physical activity track, a fenced playground and a 20,000-SF turf area for sports. This phase provided essential educational space and set the foundation for future expansion.
The second phase was the Upper School, completed in July 2023, which added 72,859 SF of high school facilities to the campus. It includes state-of-the-art spaces such as a band room, black box theater and science labs. This expansion addressed the need for more high school options and allowed the school to offer over 20 clubs, up from four in the previous year. Our expertise and communication successfully managed challenges like a change in county administration and significant offsite improvements.
