The Nashville Collegiate Prep Middle School in Antioch, TN, was a 93,400-square-foot facility that exemplified Ryan Companies’ commitment to delivering excellence in education infrastructure. Following the success of a previous project, Noble Education Initiative (NEI) engaged Ryan for the development and construction of this state-of-the-art middle school, designed to meet the growing educational needs of the area.
The project encountered significant challenges, including a late-stage change in the building footprint that necessitated additional public hearings and delayed the start date. Despite this setback, Ryan’s development team, well-versed in NEI’s needs, provided crucial due diligence to ensure the site—strategically located near a highway with prime visibility—was optimally prepared.
To maintain the critical timeline, the construction team secured a foundation-only permit, allowing work to proceed despite delays in the full permitting process. The site’s heavy scope, which included rock blasting, was a first for many involved and added complexity to the project. Nevertheless, Ryan’s cohesive approach, combining development, preconstruction, and construction, kept the project on track.
Completed in time for the 2024-25 school year, Nashville Collegiate Prep Middle School solidified Ryan’s role as a leading charter school builder in the Southeast. Ryan continued to partner with NEI to address Nashville’s educational needs and laid the groundwork for future expansions, including the anticipated Nashville Collegiate Prep High School.
