New President Named for Ryan Companies West Region
Ryan Companies has announced the promotion of Mike Mahoney, from senior vice president of real estate development to west region president. Mahoney will succeed Chris Wood, who will remain with Ryan, focusing on office and industrial developments as well as other national initiatives.
Mahoney began at Ryan two years ago, as senior vice president of real estate development. His experience in the development and construction industry spans over 20 years, having most recently led multi-family efforts for ConAm as senior vice president – development. Mahoney is currently leading several projects in Ryan’s West region, including Millenia, a luxury multifamily development in Chula Vista. His role in leading the company’s West region covers projects throughout the state of California.
As president of the west region, Mahoney will provide leadership and direction of the development, design, construction and real estate management teams in Ryan’s West region, based in San Diego, Calif. He will be responsible for expanding the company’s footprint in the region, assuring flawless execution on behalf of our customers, and developing strong relationships with business partners.

Heavily involved in the industry, Mahoney is a board member and former president of the San Diego Building Industry Association, a licensed California contractor (Class B), a licensed California real estate Broker and a member of the Urban Land Institute. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and his MBA from the University of Southern California.
Mahoney will work together with current West region president, Chris Wood, with an effective transition date of January 2021.
