Mills Fleet Farm’s distribution center in Chippewa Falls, WI, is a 1.1 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility designed to improve Mills’ distribution network. This facility is critical to the growth of Mills Fleet Farm’s stores across the upper Midwest, with this regional distribution center supporting the existing network of stores and allowing for additional locations.
Mills selected Ryan as their development and construction partner in early January of 2017, and in only three months we were able to work with Mills to design the site and facility, structure the acquisition of land, execute a lease and begin construction by April 4th. We had a short four months, from the time of breaking ground, to turn over the first third of the building. The building was completely enclosed, with the slabs poured, within five months of breaking ground.
The distribution facility has 102 dock doors on one side with 102 future docks on the other side, and a clear height of 36 feet. Other features include a one story office, plus several specialty rooms and designated areas for the storage of sensitive materials. The new parking lot has 617 stalls and 232 trailer stalls.
